Play: Exploring Western Australia in Winter (Day 11)

So, today we are driving back to Perth to spend the last 3 nights of our trip... And we decide to visit a few places on our way back....

First stop: Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre. We checked online and found that this is their opening hours...

The Centre is open daily (except 25th December) as follows:October to May: 8.00am – 4.00pmJune to September: 9.00am – 2.00pm

Feeling hopeful (cause we haven't manage to go on a few other attractions due to the bad weather), we drove to Bunbury which is an hour drive away.

When we reached it is almost noon time and we were disappointed that no dolphin tour today due to the bad weather...We can still visit the discovery centre if we wanted to... there are some fishes in the tank and some video on the dolphin but we weren't really interested so decided to give it a miss.

To avoid disappointment do give the centre a call before going down...Some additional information on the address, admission fees etc can be found here.

So we ended up feeding the kids some porridge that i prepare in the morning as their lunch... we did that in the car, with a view of the ocean... really love eating/picnic in Australia.. everywhere is just so scenic...

After lunch, we got out of our car and the kids get to stretch a bit at the beach before continue with our journey back to Perth.

The journey back to Perth will be another 2 hours and both of us are hungry...so give a quick check online and went to a nearby town in Mandurah for a quick bite. Ended up in McD...kids are quite happy with the playground... but it was a little chilly at the playground. Kiddos played for a while then join daddy and mummy for fries.
McD for lunch near Mandurah Forum Shopping
Fast food and fries... kids' favourite
Afterwards mummy decided to go shopping at Mandurah Forum Shopping Mall since by the time we get back to Perth, most shops will be closed anyway... didn't want today to be totally wasted since we didn't manage to see dolphin earlier.. at least some shopping therapy might help.

There are quite a few shops in Mandurah Forum Shopping Mall.... they have Big W, Coles, Pumpkin Patch outlet etc...

Shop for a bit and we drove about 2 hours back to Perth. Collect the key to our apartment which we booked online with stayz.com. Has been using stayz for quite a lot of our Australia accommodation and we love it... the service charge is much better than AirBNB.

This time round, we stayed in an apartment (parking included.. phew... parking in Perth is really pricey)....

The apartment comes with 2 rooms, a kitchen, living room, toilet, shower and washing machine facilities. Located pretty centre in Perth, i think it is quite a good deal.
Back to perth.. rented a service apartment this time

We settled down and the kids had some porridge for dinner. For the two of us, we also just had instant noodle for a quick dinner.. tired to go out already...

Tomorrow it is the highlight of the trip...kids are going to go crazy running around and feeding the kangaroos at Caversham Wildlife Park...

Read about it here!
